Jackson Hole 2009

We went to Jackson Hole, WY this past weekend. Our friends Jason and Trish invited us to join them on their annual trip. We had sooo much fun. Unfortunately Trish got sick before we got there and had to go home but we still had fun. We had time for 3 rafting runs down the snake river. I actually only went 1 time but it was still alot of fun. The water was cold though. Here are a few pics.

Washington DC

Derk and I were able to go to DC for a few days. Derk had a business trip and I was able to tag along. We were so excited to go because it was the day after our 16th wedding anniversary and we were sealed in the Washington DC temple and were looking forward to going to a session there. I called a few days before we left to check the temple schedule and found out they were closed for 2 weeks. We were so dissapointed! We still had a great time though. We left on Friday and Derk's meeting and such didn't start until Monday so we had two days to play and tour the city. Two of his co-workers went also so it was fun to all hang out together. I think the highlight of the trip was riding the Segway scooters on a tour of the city. It was sooo much fun! I was also treated to a spa day while they were in meetings. The resort we stayed in was Awesome too. We stayed at the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor. We had a gorgeous view of the Potomac River from our room on the top floor. The weather was perfect and the humidity was low. Awesome trip even though we weren't able to go to the temple.

Dear Derk,

I just wanted to take a moment today and remind you of my love for you. It is absolutely endless. I know that I tell you often that I love you but I just want you to know that it goes so much deeper than everyday words! You are my best friend, my protector, my biggest fan, my rock, my lover, my soul mate, and most of all my ETERNITY! I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for allowing us to meet and fall in love. I remember all of the doubters because of our quick engagement and how young we were..but we knew and still know that we will spend eternity together. Thanks for being such an awesome husband, father, and friend. Thanks for blessing my life daily. Thanks for sticking with me "in sickness and in health". Thanks for making me the happiest girl in the world. Thanks for 16 wonderful years!

Fourth of July in Idaho

My parent flew in for the weekend of the fourth. We were able to go to Idaho and visit the Rexburg and Twin Falls temples. That made 100 temples that they have visited. What an awesome achievement!!! After the Twin Falls session we went to visit my dad's cousin Claudia and her husband Russ. They fixed us an awesome dinner and we had a great time visiting with them! On the fourth we headed into Idaho Falls to spend the day with Derk's parents. His mom prepared an awesome picnic lunch for us after the parade. The girls rode a few rides and then we headed back to the hotel for swimming and then fireworks. We had an awesome weekend!
