So I celebrated my birthday yesterday. I have to admit that I really wasn't looking forward to the day much. Not because of getting older...that kind of thing really doesn't bother me...but I knew that this would be the 2nd year in a row without Derk here. He had to be in CO for work again and it couldn't be helped but birthday's are kind of a big deal for me so I was bummed. I try to make every one's birthday's around here a special day. As you can probably tell from some of the previous post on here.
So, I wake up feeling a little down yesterday but I check my phone and the first message is from Derk wishing me a Happy Birthday. A little later he calls and tells me how bad he feels that he is not there.
I head to work and all day long I am receiving texts, emails, and FB messages for my birthday. My brother, Jimmy, always sing to me for my birthday. So I had a nice voicemail from him! Lunch was brought in for work and I order one of my favorites from Applebees, Oriental Chicken Salad. Then Later they brought in pies and sang to me. The day was turning out pretty great. I had one of my favorites desserts...Banana Cream Pie!
I finally got away from work and headed home to pick up Lauren. Mikayla had to work ( another bummer).

Lauren and I went to Texas Road House and met My friend Tricia for dinner. It is always a favorite! Their rolls are to die for! I was so glad that Trish had suggested getting together. We hadn't seen each other for a while so it was nice to catch up.

After dinner we headed back to my house and watch Bachelor Pad. I came home to a bag of fresh veggies from my neighbor and the cutest SunDrop tree from my friend Rachel. I also was able to talk to my sister Ashley for a while.

I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. I have such an awesome family and wonderful friends. My day could have been sad but because of everyone and their kind word and deeds I had an amazing day! Happy Birthday to me! :)
