Windsor Rocker

I purchase a few thing at a couple of yard sales last summer.  This was the best find!  I bought a book shelf, desk, and this rocker all for $25 or $30 dollars.
The rocker had at least six different layers of paint so I decided I wanted to strip it to the original wood.  Now keep in mind this was probably in August when I purchased this and I am just now finishing it.  Yea...a lot of work.  I forgot to get a photo of the original state it was in but you can get the idea from some of these photos I hope.

S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.

1867  Gardner, Mass.

I found this little bit of information about the manufacturer of the chair on the internet.  I am just thrilled to have this rocker!

S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.

Gardner’s fourth oldest manufacturing company and an offshoot of Heywood-Wakefield Company.
Founded: 1867 by Samuel, Charles O. and Roderic L. Bent
Location: Mill Street in South Gardner
Products: First made five-spindle factory chairs for Heywood-Wakefield, and later made Colonial chairs and rockers. About 1870 they began making children’s chairs, rockers and stools. From the 1920s-1950s they made breakfast sets and institutional furniture. One specialty, by the 1960s, was the college and university chair. Bent Brothers, along with Nichols and Stone, were national leaders in this area.
Company closed: 2001

Lauren's Braces

My baby has braces.  We went through this with Mikayla but it is a little more complicated with Lauren because of her under bite.  She has to wear headgear to bed at night.  Poor kid!  She still is cute though!  Wish us luck!

Spring so far...

So I love decorating as you know.  I went on a couple of little shopping runs when my mom was here a few weeks ago and then my aunt stopped by and we were able to go to a cute shop together.  Then Saturday the girls and I went down to Gardner Village for a few hours.

All of the pretty spring and Easter decor got me excited.  If only the weather in UT would cooperate!  Anyway ... I was inspired by a little shop we went in and I created this.
